Geometry Dash is a side-scrolling app that forces you to move quickly in order to advance from level to level. It is a fast-paced, highly addictive, and very challenging game, and one that comes complete with a robust and active online community.
You play as a little avatar that you get to select. From there, your job is to tap the screen at the right moments - often in tune with the music - in order to avoid crashing into a geometric pattern of some sort.
Like most games of this type, the game starts off easy and slow but eventually hooks you in. Levels get harder and harder and you get more and more frustrated. Indeed, this game is almost the perfect personification of the "just one more try!" phenomenon, as you will want to keep playing until you finally beat the level in question.
Geometry Dash is exceptionally fast-paced. Levels load quickly and only give you seconds - or less - to react. Furthermore, the types of movement required will vary, and vary quickly. Geometry Dash loads a wide array of shapes and sizes that will unquestionably keep you on your toes. Keep in mind that this is important because Geometry Dash is truly unforgiving. You fall once, and you're dead. There are no shields and no power-ups - you just have to go back and restart a level.
This game is highly customizable. You can go much farther than just playing, as you can create your own levels. This level editor is pretty easy to understand and makes playing the game a heck of a lot more fun.
When it comes to the level editor, the game gets even better: You can actually play levels that have been uploaded and created by others. This means that, if you get bored, are looking for a new challenge or beat the game, you can find something else to play. We're only talking about a $1.99 app here, and that's a great bargain that enhances the game by giving it hours and hours of added replayability.
Like all games like this, this game is about more than just defeating the current level. You are also supposed to collect hard-to-reach orbs that are scattered around the game. Orbs are the in-game currency, and you can also purchase them in the game. These orbs will allow you to purchase unlockables, like other avatars. There are also daily quests you can complete, and doing so will give you more orbs. This provides you with a great incentive to keep coming back to the game.
The graphics on this game are nothing to write home about, but that's okay: This game is more about the gameplay, the music, and the colors. The colors are rapidly changing - so much so that it can almost become distracting at points.
Music plays an important part in this game, and there are multiple different soundtracks that you will enjoy listening to while playing. These techno beats are fun and original.
The app was developed by RobTop Games AB and is available for download on iOS and Android systems. The price is $1.99.

With fun music and easy levels to get through, Geometry Dash brings a bit of math to the world of gaming.
Each colorful level features geometric shapes, such as squares and triangles, that you have to get through various obstacles. The game tends to keep up with the beat of the music that is being played. The character that you play with can be customized in color and design. You can change the eyes on the shape as well as a few of the accessories.
There are several spikes to get across in the levels, making it sometimes difficult to maneuver your way across. Some of the levels have a faster pace than others. This all comes back to the beat of the music as it's what seems to trigger the speed of which the shapes roll along. Unless you are using the circle, then it will be a little hard to get across the levels anyway as the corners of the shapes tend to get in the way. While getting through each level, you can jump and flip, but you have to make sure that you land properly. If you don't get in the right area or fall through an empty space, then you have to restart the level. Another fun feature of the game is that you can design your own levels to play and share with others.
