Snapshot is ideal for taking screenshots of your screen or any other active windows.

There are going to be instances when you want to take a screenshot of your computer screen. Whether it is of your entire screen or of an active window, you want to be able to take a screenshot quickly and work with it the way you want. While there is a print screen feature built into Windows, it is not always as effective as you might like.

Snapshot is a lightweight tool that you can download to your computer instantly. The free program allows you to take a screenshot anywhere on your screen. You can choose to encompass the entire screen or one of the active windows. This helps you to capture exactly what you want.

Once you have taken the screenshot, you can choose to save, print or paste it into another program so that you can work with it further. You can save the snapshot into multiple formats, making it easy to share online or in any other capacity.

The interface is basic and very easy to use. The accessibility allows you to determine how you are going to run the profile and how you are going to access the program. You control whether you are going to press Control, Alt, Shift, or any other key in order to launch the program. This allows you to create a shortcut based upon what else you have going on with your computer. With the simple press of a button, the program launches, allowing you to take the snapshot you need.

Also within the interface, you can manage screen settings, file management, FTP upload and additional custom handling. Any time that you take a screenshot, you can determine whether it will be saved to disk automatically and where it will be saved. This means that you can create a custom folder within your documents that is specifically for all of the snapshot images.

Additionally, under screen settings, you can determine the screen configuration as far as where you want the picture to grab from and what the dimensions are going to be. This can save you a significant amount of time because you won’t have to crop the images further prior to working with them or sending them on to anyone.

If you have FTP capabilities, you can also choose to upload the picture immediately and identify the IP/hostname so that it is all done automatically.

Regardless of what you are taking screenshots of, you can simplify it dramatically by having the right tool on your computer. Snapshot is free and is less than 1 MB in size, which means that it is not going to take up a lot of your hard drive space.
